Hope To A Dark World

In the darkest moments, the light shines brighter. During this last year, I imagine we all have experienced some sort of loss. Some have lost peace, a job, a dream, or someone we love. I would argue that some have lost some part of their sanity as well. Recent events have given birth to an era that many could characterize as divisive, chaotic, and for sure, painful.

Yet at the North Charleston Dream Center, I’ve seen this time as an opportunity to be close to the brokenhearted and to aid the troubled. I believe God placed Seacoast Church and the Dream Center as a light in our diverse community, to love others, regardless of their views or life circumstances, and to care for them. We made the decision to put their basic needs first and walk with those in pain. We have the chance to reflect God’s light in what might be the darkest time in the lives of so many.

I’ve seen miracles, healings, transformations, and such growth in the lives of our serve teams—all because of the willingness of people to be a living example of Christ in the lives of others, to walk with the marginalized, side by side, not out front. This Christmas season, remember Isaiah’s prophecy about the coming of the Messiah. Jesus’s birth brought hope to a dark world—eternal hope.
